CBD and CHRONIC PAIN

From the study report: "Endocannabinoids regulate the sensation of pain. They stimulate a part of our nervous system (endocannabinoid system, also known as ECS for short). This inhibits both inflammation and the transmission of pain impulses. This is why people who have enough endocannabinoids need fewer painkillers than others.

CBD has a balancing effect on the ECS."

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), CBD is not addictive and is not harmful to health.

STUDIES

CBD and Covid

US study: Cannabis active ingredients could help against Covid

The conclusion of the seven authors:

REPORTS AND STUDIES:

CBD and intestines

During a study that looked at the effectiveness of CBD in inflammatory diseases, researchers found that CBD can be effective against intestinal inflammation in particular and also against other inflammations in general. The focus of the study was on patients who suffered from ulcerative colitis and other painful intestinal inflammations. The scientists found that CBD has a proven positive influence on the environment of inflammation.

STUDY REPORT:

Endurance athletes often suffer from side stitches, nausea or heartburn. The reason for this is reduced oxygen and nutrient supply. Inflammation and oxidative stress occur, which can lead to gastrointestinal problems. Studies show that CBD can be promising for relieving pain and reducing inflammation.

CBD has shown some effects that may be relevant for gastrointestinal problems caused by physical exertion. Here is a study on how CBD can help reduce intestinal inflammation.

CBD and DIABETES

Recently it has been scientifically recognized (Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem) that CBD can be helpful in diabetes.

In addition to the positive and independent reports from patients that can be found on the Internet, there are other interesting studies.

STUDIES:

CBD and DEPRESSION

According to study reports, CBD is said to have a relaxing and anti-anxiety effect. An important function of cannabidiol is the regulation of neurotransmitters in our nervous system. There are now many independent studies on this.

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and inflammation

CBD’S ANTI-INFLAMMATORY POWER

The hemp ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) has clear anti-inflammatory properties. Current research results from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena have shown that CBD not only reduces the release of pro-inflammatory messenger substances, but also stimulates the production of anti-inflammatory messenger substances.

A special discovery is that CBD does not dock onto the body's conventional cannabinoid receptors. Instead, it activates the immune-regulating enzyme 15-lipoxygenase-1 (15-LOX), which plays a central role in the inflammatory process.

This could explain the positive contribution of CBD to wound healing and tissue regeneration. Despite the variety of cannabinoids in cannabis, CBD showed the strongest anti-inflammatory effect, while the psychoactive THC was significantly less effective.

These results could pave the way for CBD-centered therapies that address inflammation-related diseases without the problematic ingredient THC.

CBD and EPILEPSY

Incidentally, cannabidiol is said to have been used against epilepsy as early as the Middle Ages.

Observations in children:

As the researchers report in the journal of the National Institute of Health, they have examined in more detail the effectiveness of CBD-enriched cannabis preparations as perceived by parents in children with epilepsy, but especially with Dravet syndrome.

To this end, the researchers not only documented the experiences the affected children had with the treatment, they also questioned the children's parents in detail about their perceived effectiveness of the CBD treatment.

When the survey was evaluated, it emerged that the perceived effectiveness of the CBD products and their tolerability were equally positive for everyone. 85 percent of parents reported that their children suffered fewer seizures during the treatment phase thanks to the CBD products. 14 percent of parents even stated that their children did not suffer any more seizures at all during this time.

As published by the IACM, cannabidiol is said to be able to regulate the flow of information in the brain, which is why it has an anticonvulsant effect. This is why it can help with tonic-clonic seizures. Even minor twitches can be stopped by the cannabinoid. Source

MORE STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and ESSENTIAL TREMOR

Some studies suggest that cannabis products can help to limit tremor symptoms. The researchers concluded that "CBD shows promising and, above all, positive reactions in essential tremor, a disease that is also classified by shaking and spastic seizures."

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and FIBROMYALGIA

Reports show that CBD has nerve-sparing and nerve-protecting effects. CBD therefore often makes everyday life easier for those affected by fibromyalgia.

STUDIES:

CBD and SKIN CARE – PROBLEM SKIN – ANTIAGEING

The CBD active ingredient is becoming increasingly important in the field of cosmetics. Laboratory tests show that cannabidiol has positive properties when it comes to the skin's defense reactions. The findings show that irritated and impure skin, as well as various stages of irritated skin, respond very well to the active ingredient.

A particular advantage is the almost complete absence of side effects, as is known from chemical products.

Further studies demonstrate anti-aging effects of CBD.

In 2019, a non-pharmaceutical CBD study was conducted on 150 subjects. The focus was on full-spectrum CBD oil and the associated anti-aging effects. The randomized placebo-controlled study was able to demonstrate significant effects of CBD on various anti-aging-related factors.

A number of valid studies also point to the inflammatory effects of CBD. Their conclusion: "Since inflammation is particularly common in aging skin, caused by dry skin and the associated itching, CBD is an ideal natural alternative according to findings. CBD can also be beneficial with regard to oxidative stress with its antioxidant properties."

CBD and SKIN DISEASES

Many dermatologists are convinced of the anti-inflammatory and blocking effects of cannabidiol.

As the researchers report in the renowned Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, based on the known properties of CBD, it was concluded that medicines, creams, lotions and ointments containing cannabinoids could also be effective against eczema, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis and psoriasis.

Various studies have shown that the body's own cannabinoid PEA can alleviate the symptoms of neurodermatitis. A study from 2008, which was carried out at the Technical University in Munich, examined the effect of PEA in a cream on neurodermatitis patients: A total of 2,456 subjects were surveyed. Symptoms such as itching, skin redness, flaking and thickening of the eczema had improved by around 60 percent. In addition, 56 percent of the subjects stopped taking cortisone. In other subjects, weekly cortisone intake was reduced by an average of 62 percent.

STUDY REPORT:

Another observational study from 2018, published in Pediatric Dermatology, suggests that the external application of CBD in epidermolysis bullosa (skin disease) leads, among other things, to faster wound healing and less blistering.

CBD and CANCER

Medicine is now aware of the numerous positive effects of CBD (cannabidiol) on the human body. The latest discoveries are reported by researchers from Austria who have discovered that CBD can alleviate the effects of cancer-related chemotherapy.

The researchers agree, and the German Cancer Information Service of the German Cancer Research Center in the Helmholtz Association also sees CBD products, especially CBD oils, increasingly being used as an adjunct to cancer therapy. But CBD products are also gaining ground in many other medical disciplines and are even replacing conventional medications.

REPORT:

Like medicinal cannabis, CBD is said to have a supportive effect on numerous ailments. The positive effects on multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, inflammation, psychosis, PTSD and rheumatism are well known. CBD is also used to relieve pain during chemotherapy.

This is what Dr. Franjo Grotentherme’s book reports:

This book provides answers to the questions of which cannabinoids can be used, which doses should be used, which preparations are useful, which combinations with standard therapies are promising and why different types of cancer require a different approach.

CBD and the LUNGS

Studies and tests indicate that there is indeed a possible treatment option for inflammatory lung diseases today, as suggested by a recent study published in the medical journal Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology. The scientists found that CBD has a proven positive influence on the environment of inflammation.

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and MIGRAINE

Enthusiastic users and some studies are hopeful:

Another study report, published in 2019 in The Journal of Pain. This observational study found that the consumption of cannabis (CBD) can have a significant positive effect on headaches or migraines.

CBD and MS - Multiple Sclerosis

A study published in 2018 in Frontiers in Neurology

suggests that CBD could reduce pain as well as spasticity and fatigue in MS patients. This should increase the mobility of those affected.

CBD and MUSCLE REGENERATION

CBD and KIDNEY

Current study situation:

"Since many kidney diseases are caused by inflammation (e.g. pyelonephritis, autoimmune inflammation of the kidney), the potential of CBD for kidney diseases of this type is particularly high. According to many studies, CBD has an anti-inflammatory effect as well as a pain-reducing effect."

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD for neuropathic pain - NERVE PAIN

Although further research is needed to understand more precisely how CBD helps with nerve pain, there are known positive interactions between the active ingredient and nerve cell health.

First of all, CBD works primarily through the endocannabinoid system. This is a collection of receptors and endocannabinoids that regulate homeostasis in the body. There are endocannabinoid receptors in every organ in the human body. However, they are most highly concentrated in the central nervous system.

CBD and OSTEOPOROSIS

Conclusion of the studies: Of course, CBD is not a miracle cure that can fight osteoporosis on its own, but its positive properties can now be proven. Many osteoporosis patients have already reported positive results from it.

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and PARKINSON

LATEST STUDY

At the Innsbruck University Clinic for Neurology (Director Stefan Kiechl), the effects of a cannabinoid approved for chemotherapy-induced nausea on Parkinson's patients were investigated. The randomized controlled study was recently published in the renowned journal of the American Neurological Association, "Annals of Neurology," and has attracted international attention.

STUDY:

CBD and PMS – menstrual problems

Menstrual headaches and period-related sleep disorders

Affected women report sometimes unbearable headaches during PMS. Studies show that CBD can relieve headaches.

This effect is proven by a study from the University of Michigan in the USA. Participants were people with sleep problems. They were given cannabis products as a therapeutic measure. Quote: "80% of those participants whose sleep problems were caused by pain said their sleep quality had improved significantly. The amount of uninterrupted sleep also increased."

PMS anxiety and depression, stress and mood swings

As part of a double-blind study, CBD was administered to subjects with elevated cortisol levels. Nothing changed in the placebo group, but the CBD group felt significantly less stress. The cortisol level had demonstrably decreased.

CBD and PSYCHE

Professor Francisco Silveira Guimarães and his colleagues from the Ribeirao Preto Medical School of the University of Sao Paulo conducted a study.

In their study, researchers found that cannabidiol (CBD) can reduce aggression associated with mental disorders and social isolation.

CBD and MOTION SICKNESS (kinetosis)

Several studies have investigated the connection between motion sickness, CBD and the endocannabinoid system. The results showed that both stress and motion sickness are closely linked to an impairment of the ECS. The researchers concluded that CBD represents an alternative therapeutic strategy for those suffering from motion sickness.

STUDIES:

CBD and IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME

US scientists recently demonstrated a positive effect of cannabis and CBD products on severe gastrointestinal diseases such as gastroparesis in a small study with a total of 24 subjects. Since there is currently no really promising treatment for gastroparesis, the scientists consider the results of their current study to be a major breakthrough for medicine.

CBD and SCHIZOPHRENIA

Recent studies have shown that CBD not only has a curbing effect, but also a regulating effect, especially in sporadic episodes of psychosis (regardless of the type).

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD with CBN and SLEEP DISORDER

Doctors have partially proven the effect of cannabidiol on sleep disorders. There are also countless reports on the Internet from sufferers who have successfully used CBD for sleep disorders. Most of them even completely avoided chemical medication, such as strong sleeping pills. CBD can therefore definitely help with most types of annoying sleep disorders.

Modern research has also investigated a cannabinoid combination of CBD and CBN. Both cannabinoids together achieve maximum effects on stress, as well as problems falling asleep or staying asleep. According to studies published to date in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, the combination of CBD and CBN can promote restful sleep and improve sleep quality due to its anxiety and stress-relieving potential. CBN (cannabinol) is less well known but still effective. As a phytocannabinoid, it is extracted from the hemp plant in the same way as CBD and can act via the receptors of our body's endocannabinoid system. CBD binds to various receptors in the body, including the cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) and type 2 (CB2), while CBN primarily binds to the CB2 receptor.

CBD and MOOD SWINGS

A number of studies show how CBD can also help prevent mood swings. The reason is that mood swings can often be triggered by increased stress and CBD can have a calming effect against stress, especially in the run-up to it.

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and STRESS

The use of cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural measure for stress. This is based, among other things, on the influence of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and the neurotransmitter AEA. There are now numerous, very comprehensive scientific observations on this.

According to studies published so far in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, the combination of CBD and CBN can effectively promote relaxation due to its anti-anxiety and stress-relieving potential.

STUDY REPORTS:

CBD and SPORTS:

In September 2017, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) removed CBD from the list of prohibited substances, allowing many athletes to use cannabidiol as a natural dietary supplement in sports.

This applies to THC-free products.

Quote from the technical report: "If a sports injury is not properly cured, it can lead to chronic pain. Likewise, prolonged muscle soreness delays regeneration. Many athletes who exercise intensively use CBD drops and/or muscle lotions for regeneration."

Especially in endurance sports, athletes often suffer from nausea, side stitches or heartburn. The reason for this is a reduced supply of oxygen and nutrients. Inflammation and oxidative stress occur. Research suggests that CBD is promising for relieving pain and reducing inflammation.

CBD products are particularly popular among athletes whose main goals are to build strength and muscle. Through improved regeneration and the prevention of inflammation, athletes can build and increase their muscle mass faster.

Yankel Gabet and researchers from Tel Aviv University have now discovered another interesting approach using cannabidiol (CBD): They report: "The healing process for bone fractures is significantly faster and, in addition, the affected areas of the bone are stronger and more robust. This means that they no longer break as quickly as before."

According to further studies, CBD has great potential to improve athletic performance.

CBD and ANIMALS

Although CBD oil is primarily aimed at humans, studies show that dogs, cats and horses can also benefit from its positive properties. However, special, different circumstances must be taken into account here.

STUDY REPORT

A study by the father of cannabinoids, R. Mechoulam, from 1988 provides information on this, especially in dogs.

Further clinical studies from Canada and the USA confirm the success.

In Canada and the USA, research and studies have already been carried out on animals using CBD. Success was achieved on both a physical and psychological level in dogs. Animals that often suffered from stress were helped to calm down and react more calmly. Particularly anxious animals and those that develop seemingly unfounded nervousness have become calmer and more relaxed with CBD.

CBD and OVERWEIGHT – OBESITY

Conclusion according to the study report: “CBD has a stimulating property that encourages cells to break down excess proteins and fats in the body.

Furthermore, losing weight with CBD is proven because cannabidiol stimulates the metabolism in general. CBD stimulates the body's own fat burning. Cannabidiol also has the property of curbing or blocking fat cell renewal.

Successful weight loss with CBD is therefore quite conceivable."

Countless, independent success stories from overweight people can be read on the Internet.

MORE REPORTS AND STUDIES:

CBD and DIGESTION

In an article, “Phytiotherapy Research” provides reason to believe that various cannabis products could have positive effects on irritable bowel syndrome. The anti-inflammatory effects in particular are considered desirable.

CBD is said to have the ability to control ECG activation. A study report concludes that cannabidiol could help the intestines regain more independence in their own defenses.

CBD and VIRUSES

CURRENT STUDIES

The Klagenfurt Clinic is currently using it successfully with patients undergoing Covid therapy. It works in many ways. A study is also underway to provide more precise findings.

LATEST STUDY

A study report on CBD and Corona has now been published from Oregon USA.

The results of the study, led by Richard van Breemen, a researcher at Oregon State's Global Hemp Innovation Center, College of Pharmacy and Linus Pauling Institute, were published today in the Journal of Natural Products.

Another study, still in the review process, has found, QUOTE: “that the CBD compound from cannabis stops the spread of viruses in lung tissue.

A key finding was that CBD effectively prevented the so-called cytokine storm triggered by the virus.”

A preprint of the study is available in the journal Bio RXIV.

FURTHER STUDIES:

CBD in DENTAL CARE

A study published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science found that the cannabinoids tested (CBD, CBGA, CBG, CBN and CBC) killed more bacterial colonies than regular toothpastes.

The researchers concluded that cannabinoids can not only revolutionize oral health and dentistry, but also slow antibiotic resistance in difficult-to-treat infections such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).

Quote from study: “While commercially available synthetic oral care products such as Oral B and Colgate are effective in maintaining oral hygiene in the average population, our study showed that cannabinoids are significantly more effective in reducing plaque bacterial strains,” the study concluded.
